On October 28-29th, the CBCGDF International Affairs Department was invited to participate in the "Digital Mercator 10-year Cultural Education" forum hosted by the Stiftung Mercator Foundation in Germany.
From October 26th to October 31st, the 15th International Conference on Genomics (ICG-15) hosted by BGI and co-organized by CBCGDF was held in Wuhan, Hubei, and organized a sub-forum on "Biodiversity and Omics Research: Life Science in the Era of Ecological Civilization".
On October 27th, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, was invited by WTM to discuss the concept of responsible tourism and promote cooperation with Harold Goodwin, founder of the International Centre for Responsible Tourism (ICRT), Brian Linden, founder of the Linden Centre, Nic Linton, managing partner of China Less Travelled and representatives of the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF).
On October 28th, at the invitation of the organizer FaithInvest, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, was invited to attend the "Green Entrepreneur Course Seminar", shared the ecological thoughts in traditional Chinese culture and introduced ecological civilization.
On October 15-17th, the REGENERATION2030 summit was held in Parma, Rome, and the Vatican in Italy as scheduled. Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, was invited to deliver a keynote speech on "Climate Change: China Green Development Foundation is in Action".
From November 9th to 13th, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng was invited to participate in the fourth online meeting of the open-ended ad hoc expert group on marine litter and microplastics (AHEG-4).
On November 9th, the fifth meeting of the China-EU High-Level People-to-People Policy Dialogue of China-EU Youth Seminar (and China-EU Youth Policy Dialogue) was held online. Dozens of experts, scholars, and multi-stakeholder youth representatives attended this meeting. Wang Huo, Deputy Secretary-General of CBCGDF, was invited to attend this high-level meeting and delivered a keynote speech.
On November 5th, the curtain of "The Evolution of France and China's Nature Conservation Policy" was opened at the French Cultural Center in Beijing, which was one of the series lectures of "China-French Environment Month" and hosted by the French Embassy in China, Representatives of the International Department of the CBCGDF were invited to attend this event to communicate with various parties on the development of nature protection policies in China and France.
On November 27th, representatives from the CBCGDF International Affairs Department and Research Department participated in the "Unique Planet-Sino-British Talks on Biodiversity" webinar, this was one of the "British Carnival" series activities. During the session, representatives communicate with other guests regarding problems of biodiversity and climate.
On December 7th and 8th, as a member of IUCN/WCEL, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng was invited to attend the online conference which was hosted by the Law Institution of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
On December 9th, a high-level online briefing was held on the theme “Status of the World in 2020”: How Do We Cope with the Earth's Emergency Situations?" This intensive and informative plenary meeting was co-hosted by the "Planetary Emergency Partnership" (PEP) of the International Think Tank Club of Rome and the Global Commons Alliance. Dr. Zhou Jinfeng was invited to attend this meeting. The meeting summarized the 17 UN SDGs into four accessible topics: a sustainable society, technology and innovation, environment and nature, and jointly creating a better world.
On December 9th, the CBCGDF was invited to participate in the End Pandemics meeting. Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF attended the regular meeting of the End Pandemics Alliance for the first time and delivered a spotlight speech. Pei Su, founder, and CEO of the CBCGDF ACTAsia Special Fund moderated the meeting.
On December 22nd, Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, was invited to attend the International Scientific Forum "COVID and Human Security" co-organized by the World Academy of Arts and Sciences, UNESCO, the Club of Rome, and Lomonosov Moscow State University. The purpose of this forum is to communicate human safety-related topics online, especially in the context of the current COVID19 epidemic.
II. Global environmental governance
On March 25th, the reception ceremony of the donations for Italy's urgently needed medical supplies was held in Beijing. This donation was launched by the "Green Ribbon" and aimed to help Italy better combat COVID19. Mr. Demarie, minister counselor of the Italian Embassy in China and the head of the Economic and Commercial Department, Mr. Zhang Qi, the representative from the initiator of the "Green Ribbon", Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, and representatives from the World Green Design Organization and other guests attended the ceremony.
On March 30th, the 100,000 masks from the CBCGDF donated to Japan Friendship Inheritance Development Association had been shipped. This donation aimed to help Japan better combat COVID19.
On April 18-19th, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, received an email from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The civil society department of UNEP Governance Affairs Office on behalf of the UNEP Legal Department invited Dr. Zhou to bring forward opinions on the revised draft of UNEP's Environmental Defenders Policy.
On April 27th, at the invention of the relevant departments of the United Nations Environment Programme, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, submitted a written proposal to the United Nations General Assembly on “How the Environmental Assembly can make a significant contribution to strengthening natural actions to achieve global sustainable development goals ".
On November 4th, after voting by members of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the "Adopting Traditional Medicine to achieve social and environmental sustainability" submitted by the CBCGDF was approved. Besides, the five proposals supported by the CBCGDF had also been passed. This proposal was also an effective attempt by our foundation as a national first-level society to actively participate in global environmental governance, promote the global construction of ecological civilization, and promote Chinese medicine.
III. Media Interview
On January 27th, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, and Dr. Sara Platto, Secretary-General of the Biological and Scientific Ethics Committee (BASE) of CBCGDF, were interviewed by Il Sole 24 Ore which is the largest commercial media group in Italy. On January 31st, Dr. Sara Platto was interviewed by CTV News in Canada and briefly introduced the basic situation of the Wuhan COVID-19 epidemic.
Around February 8th, Dr. Sara Platto accepted an interview with US PRI News and introduced her current life in Wuhan.
On February 22nd, the Italian Evening Post (Corriere della Sera) published an interview with Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF. During the interview, they discussed the problem of wildlife protection brought about by the new coronavirus epidemic and long-term mechanisms for biodiversity conservation.
On April 20th, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of the CBCGDF, accepted an interview with the Beijing-based reporter of Radiotelvisione Svizzera Italiana (RSI) and responded to the question on the spread of the coronavirus, illegal wildlife trade, and biodiversity conservation.
On April 3rd, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, was invited to accept a video interview with Swedish State Television (SVT) in Yuanshi, Prefecture, Hebei Province.
On April 15th, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of CBCGDF, accepted a live broadcast interview with the ABC morning program Radio National Breakfast to introduce the latest situation in China in the context of the global pandemic.
On April 24th, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of the CBCGDF, accepted an interview with a German mainstream media, responded to the questions on China’s “wet market”, the prohibition policy, whether he is optimistic about the prospects, and existing problems.
On July 10th, during the interview with Leen Vervaeke who is a reporter from De Volkskrant, Dr. Zhou Jinfeng, Secretary-General of the CBCGDF, responded to the questions on domestic wildlife trade and breeding policies, policy guidance in the context of Coronavirus and others, also refuted the rumors on " the tradition of eating wildlife" that were internationally disseminated.
In October, Dr. Sara Platto, Secretary-General of the BASE of the CBCGDF, whose anti-epidemic stories were featured on CCTV News "My China Story".
